Why are the two sessions usually held in March?
The two sessions will start next week. They refer to the annual gatherings of the nation’s top legislature and its top body of political advisers. Setting March for the meetings means there is enough time left for the related bodies to reach a conclusion on the budget of the previous year and propose a budget for the coming year. In addition, holding the two sessions after Spring Festival leaves more time for the deputies and representatives to get prepared for the meetings.
