THE ANALECTS OF CONFUCIUS
子游为武城⑴宰。子曰：“女得人焉耳⑵乎？”曰： “有澹台灭明者⑶，行不由径，非公事，未尝至于偃之室也。”
When Zi You was governor of the town of Wu, the Master asked him whether he had got any helping hand. Zi You answered, “There is Tantai Mieming who never takes a shortcut in walking and never comes to my office unless on business.”
【译文】子游做武城县县长。孔子道：“你在这儿得到什么人才没有？”他道：“有一个叫澹台灭明的人，走路不插小道，不是公事，从不到我屋里来。”
【注释】⑴武城：鲁国的城邑，在今山东费县西南。⑵耳：通行本作“尔”，兹依唐《石经》、宋《石经》、皇侃《义疏》本作“耳”。⑶有澹台灭明者：澹台灭明字子羽，《史记.仲尼弟子列传》也把他列入弟子。但从这里子游的答话语气来看，说这话时还没有向孔子受业。因为“有⋯⋯者”的提法，是表示这人是听者以前所不知道的。若果如《史记》所记，澹台灭明在此以前便已经是孔子学生，那子游这时的语气应该与此不同。

浙江拟禁止老师用APP布置作业儿童近视率纳入政府考核
近日，浙江省教育厅联合八部门，制定《浙江省教育厅等九部门关于全面加强儿童青少年近视防控工作的意见（征求意见稿）》，明确严禁使用APP布置作业，并将总体近视率和体质健康状况纳入政府绩效考核的指标中。
Zhejiang province is moving to ban teachers from assigning homework on mobile apps as part of an effort to save students' eyesight.浙江省计划严禁教师用手机应用程序app布置作业，以保护学生视力。
Along with banning app-based homework assignments, the regulation would limit the use of electronic devices to 30 percent of total teaching time and instead encourage homework to be completed by hand on paper.除了禁止用手机应用程序（app）布置作业以外，该意见还规定使用电子产品开展教学时长不超过教学总时长的30%，鼓励动手完成纸质作业。作业方面，小学一二年级不布置书面家庭作业no written homework at all should be assigned to children in the first two years of school ，三至六年级书面家庭作业完成时间不得超过60分钟，初中不得超过90分钟，高中阶段也要合理安排作业时间。在考试管理方面，全面推进义务教育学校免试就近入学全覆盖fully implement the policy ensuring that children can receive compulsory education at schools close to where they live without having to take entrance exams。小学一二年级每学期不得超过1次，其他年级每学期不得超过2次。严禁以任何形式、方式公布学生考试成绩和排名no release of test results and ranks in any form；严禁以各类竞赛获奖证书、学科竞赛成绩或考级证明等作为招生入学依据enrollment based on academic competition results will be banned ；严禁以各种名义组织考试选拔学生。防控儿童青少年近视，浙江省教育厅还要求，强化体育课和课外锻炼increase the time for sports and extra-curricular activities ，大课间、课外体育活动、眼保健操时间均纳入课表long breaks, extra-curricular sports activities and eye exercises will be included in school schedules，严格按规定时间组织实施。儿童青少年近视防控工作myopia prevention and control、总体近视率overall myopia rate和体质健康状况physical health纳入政府绩效考核的要求。教育部也于近日发文，明确教师不得通过手机微信和QQ等方式布置作业。

近视问题不容忽视2018年，中国小学生视力不良率the proportion of poor vision 为45.7%、初中生为74.4%、高中生为83.3%、大学生为86.4%，其中85%至90%为近视眼myopia，全国近视眼人群中，小学生预估超过1亿人。2018年8月30日，教育部、国家卫生健康委员会等8部门联合印发《综合防控儿童青少年近视实施方案comprehensive plan to prevent shortsightedness among children》。方案提出：
The overall myopia rate among teenagers reduces by more than 0.5 percentage points per year from 2018 until 2023. Provinces with a high incidence of myopia are required to cut at least 1 percentage point per year.到2023年，力争实现全国儿童青少年总体近视率在201 8年的基础上每年降低0.5个百分点以上；近视高发省份每年降低1个百分点以上。
By 2030, the myopia rate for 6-year-old children should be below 3 percent, for primary school students, below 38 percent, for middle school students, below 60 percent, and for high school students, below 70 percent.到2030年，6岁儿童近视率控制在3%左右，小学生近视率下降到38％以下，初中生近视率下降到60％以下，高中阶段学生近视率下降到70％以下。
