Panda gives birth to twins again

Giant panda Maomao, the model for Jingjing, mascot of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, gave birth to female twins on Tuesday morning at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

The two cubs, which weighed 129 grams and 145.1 grams respective­ly, and the mother are all in good condition, said a source from the center in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China’s Sichuan province.

Maomao also give birth to twin cubs on July 26, 2014, named Maozhu and Maosun.

The mother panda, born on Sept 6, 2003, became world famous when it inspired the creation of one of five mascots for the Beijing Olympics.
