Ex-sports official stands trial

The Nanyang Intermediate People’s Court publicly heard the case of Xiao Tian, China’s former deputy sports chief, on Thursday. The local people’s procuratorate found that Xiao received unidentified cash payments totaling 7.96 million yuan ($1.19 million) from 1997 to 2014. The court did not make a judgment on Thursday.
