Treasury bond futures close slightly lower

China’s treasury bond futures closed lower onMonday, with the contract for settlement in December 2016 down 0.14 percent to close at 101.29 yuan ($15.14). TheMarch 2017 contract closed 0.15 percent lower at 100.96 yuan. The June 2017 contract finished 0.48 percent lower at 100.63 yuan. The contracts are agreements to buy or sell treasury bonds at a predetermined price and set date. They allow investors to bet on and profit from the movements in the value of the bonds.
