Poland eyes ris­ing poul­try ex­ports

Poland has a chance to ex­port some 2 bil­lion Pol­ish zloty ($518.8 mil­lion) worth of poul­try to China, lo­cal me­dia re­ported on Monday. The Rzecz­pospolita daily wrote that a new rep­re­sen­ta­tive of­fice for Poland’s poul­try branch, to be of­fi­cially opened in Shanghai later in the month, is to help Pol­ish en­trepreneurs en­ter the Chi­nese mar­ket. The of­fice is a joint ef­fort of the Pol­ish food sec­tor. Poland is cur­rently the only Euro­pean coun­try which can ex­port chicken and turkey meat to China. In 2015, Poland ex­ported over 105 mil­lion Pol­ish zloty worth of poul­try prod­ucts to China, ac­cord­ing to the daily, and Poland’s poul­try ex­ports may fur­ther reach 2 bil­lion Pol­ish zloty.
