Conned woman damages ATMs

A woman who emptied two 5-liter bottles of soft drink over a bank’s ATMs, causing 60,000 yuan ($8,700) in damage, claimed she was instructed to do so by a con man. The unnamed woman said she received a phone call in November from someone claiming to be from her bank, who allegedly instructed her to transfer 5,300 yuan to another account for safekeeping. When she asked for the money back the following day, she said the caller told her she would receive it if she poured cola over the cash machines.
