3,918 websites shut down in Q2
A total of 3,918 websites were shut down by China’s internet watchdogs from April to June, the Cyberspace Administration of China said in a statement on Saturday. The websites included those publishing content that jeopardized national security, and those that spread violence, vulgarity or ungrounded rumors. police received reports from tourists who said their property was stolen while watching the ceremony, a popular activity. Police said gang members coordinated since May to steal various items from viewers near the square.
