Unhappy ending for serial joyrider

-

Police detained a man in Shenzhen on June 28 for repeatedly taking a vehicle on joyrides for nearly a week. The joyrider, surnamed Yang, said he sneaked into a home when the owner, surnamed Huang, was away on June 23. Yang rummaged through Huang’s belongings and stole the keys to an Audi, along with around 2,700 yuan ($410) in cash. On several occasions, Yang took Huang’s car and drove around town. One day, when he tried to return the Audi after a joyride, another car was parked in its usual spot, so he left it elsewhere. Huang noticed his Audi was parked in an odd location and called the police. Yang said he was jobless, and driving an Audi helped boost his self-esteem.
