Man detained for swindling women

-

A migrant worker from Chongqing, surnamed Feng, was recently detained for posing as a policeman in Xiamen city. Feng, 45, pretended to be a detective last year, using counterfeit police uniforms, badges, handcuffs and a toy pistol which he bought from a street vendor. He used his fake identity to develop relationships with several local women. His illegal act was uncovered in August after a middle-aged woman, surnamed Yin, reported to Xiamen police that her detective friend, later found to be Feng, had disappeared after taking 15,000 yuan ($2,250) from her for “arranging for her son to attend a school in Xiamen”. Feng was caught earlier this month, and an investigation into the case is ongoing, local police said.
