Woman harassed for a year by ‘ex-boyfriend’

-

A man harassed a woman in Xi’an for nearly a year, claiming that she was his ex-girlfriend. Xiao Yu (assumed name), 30, is married and has a 9-year-old son. In autumn last year, she was taking her son to school when she was approached by a man, who called her a strange name, told her she was his ex-girlfriend and tried to kiss her. Since then, the man has stalked her and even walked around yelling her name in the residential community where she lives. The man found Xiao Yu’s mobile phone number on her car and started harassing her via text messages. Xiao Yu called local police several times to ask for help, but they simply advised her to ask the man’s family to take him for a mental health evaluation.
