Villager punches police officer

A 40-year-old villager in Jingbian county who punched an auxiliary police officer in the face has agreed to give him 5,000 yuan ($728) and two goats as compensation. The man, surnamed Chen, was brought to a police substation in June after getting into a fight. He refused to cooperate, however, and hit the policeman, surnamed Li, while trying to escape. The county procuratorate approved Chen’s arrest in July for disrupting public services, but Chen reached an understanding with Li after agreeing to pay him compensation.
