HOT LIST

The Shan­haitian Re­sort Sanya, Au­to­graph Col­lec­tion, has se­cured a po­si­tion on the Hot List of 2017 as one of the best new ho­tels world­wide. The 100-strong list­ing was re­leased by travel mag­a­zine Conde Nast Trav­eler, af­ter noted edi­tors and re­porters from more than 50 coun­tries re­viewed hun­dreds of new prop­er­ties.

GREEN EVENT

Kun­tai Ho­tel Bei­jing launched an eco-pro­tec­tion event de­signed for chil­dren on Sept 23 to in­crease en­vi­ron­men­tal aware­ness. Young par­tic­i­pants learned about tips for en­vi­ron­men­tal pro­tec­tion, com­peted in a quiz, en­joyed do-it-your­self ac­tiv­i­ties and in­ter­acted with their par­ents in games. The ho­tel has de­signed a se­ries of in­cen­tives to en­cour­age its guests to join in the green ef­forts, its Gen­eral Man­ager Zhang Hongy­ing said.

CHAR­ITY RUN

As Mar­riott In­ter­na­tional’s “Run to Give” char­ity event took place in dif­fer­ent lo­ca­tions across the Asia-Pa­cific re­gion on Sept 24, 24 ho­tels in Hainan prov­ince par­tic­i­pated in the event, rais­ing 118,000 yuan ($17,750) for the Yao Foun­da­tion and the Sanya So­cial Wel­fare Home to sup­port an ed­u­ca­tional pro­gram for un­der­priv­i­leged chil­dren. Shang­hai Mar­riott Ho­tel Pudong East is of­fer­ing a hairy crab feast priced at 688 yuan ($105) net per per­son. It in­cludes mar­i­nated fresh crab in spe­cial sauce, dou­ble-boiled pork ball soup with mat­su­take, grilled crab meat with but­ter in crab shell, braised mung beans with fresh crab meat and steamed pork dumpling with fresh crab roe. 021- 6036-8888 Park Hy­att Bei­jing launched king crabs at its China Grill restau­rant as a sea­sonal treat as of Septem­ber.
