Beijing Film Academy Drama Iphigenia in Tauris

Date: Oct 24 — 7:30 pm Venue: National Center for the Performing Arts Price: 80-160 yuan When the Trojan War has just broken out, the Greek commander Agamemnon, who is self-willed, offends the Goddess of the Hunt Artemis, who orders him to offer his daughter’s life as a sacrifice. Agamemnon lies to his wife Clytemnestra that he will marry their daughter Iphigenia to the hero Achilles, and therefore deceives his wife into taking their daughter to the port of Aulis, where he then sends his daughter to the altar as an offering to the goddess. After the war is over, Clytemnestra murders Agamemnon in a fit of pique. Their son Orestes commits matricide to revenge his father, and therefore screws around with Nemesis. He is forced to flee and steal the statue of god in Tauris. However, his elder sister Iphigenia is still alive, since she has been saved by the Goddess of the Hunt and sent to Tauris to serve as a priest there. Contact: 010-6655-0000
