Myanmar, South Korea trade surges to $458m

Trade between Myanmar and South Korea reached $458 million in the first seven months of the present fiscal year 2017-18, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Monday. The country’s exports to the East Asian country amounted to over $175 million while its imports were $283 million as of October from April last year. The country usually imports cosmetic, food and electronic equipment, mobile devices and other goods from South Korea and exports agricultur­al products including cashew nuts, mangoes, rice, beans and pulses. Bilateral trade between the two nations was $866 million in fiscal year 2016-2017.
