Kershaw sharp in Dodgers slugfest
Clayton Kershaw earned his first win in 2 ½ months and the Los Angeles Dodgers blasted six home runs in an 8-3 romp over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night.
Kershaw, the three-time NL Cy Young Award winner had been on a strict pitch count restriction while recovering from arm surgery, but looked solid in going six full innings for the victory.
Max Muncy belted two round-trippers for LA, and the Dodgers’ six homers were the most they’ve hit at home since also launching six on Sept 9, 2013, against Arizona.
Ivan Nova (4-6) became the first pitcher in Pirates history to give up five homers in a game. Pittsburgh has been outscored 25-4 in the first two games of the series.
