Golden jackal caught on camera
A wild golden jackal has been photographed in the Tibet autonomous region, a first for the species in China, according to the Tibet Biodiversity Image Conservation on Monday. The animal appeared on Saturday in Xigaze at an elevation of 3,500 meters. On Sunday, Li Sheng, a researcher at Peking University’s School of Life Sciences, confirmed that the animal was a golden jackal, which is found from North Africa to South Asia.
