Buyer finds residents in home

-

A businesswoman, surnamed Zhu, is seeking legal help after discovering strangers are living in nine apartments she “purchased” in Kunming. Zhu paid 1.8 million yuan ($270,000) in 2010 as a 50 percent down payment on the apartments but received only a receipt from the developer, who refused to sign an official contract. The property management company told her the apartments have been rented out because the developer owes the company a lot of money. It said the developer still owns the apartments as Zhu has yet to sign a formal purchase contract.
