Gong Na, the tenant, told her landlord, surnamed Huang, she needed to end her rental contract early so she could seek immediate treatment on June 25. She expected to pay a financial penalty, but instead Huang responded by sending a small amount of cash to help cover her medical bills. Gong declined the money but said she was touched by Huang’s offer.
