Travel Tips:
1. The best time to visit Zhangye is from June to September. 2. Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park is 30 km east of the downtown area. Admission tickets are 40 yuan, and 20 yuan for a tour bus (with commentators). The park is equipped with four viewing decks, the best viewing times at early morning and dusk. 3. The Zhangye National Wetland Park is located to the north of the city, a mere 4 km from the urban area. Admission is free. Visitors can visit the park by renting a bicycle or taking a battery car. 4. Yanzhi Mountain Scenic Area is 40 km southeast in Shandan County. Ticket prices are 40 yuan. It is closed in winter.
