From a scientific point of view, communal dining can easily lead to transmission of certain infectious diseases, such as influenza. Other diners on the table can be easily infected if someone is infected with such a disease. For example, tuberculosis is mainly transmitted through the respiratory tract, that is, cough, sputum and droplets are its main transmission routes.

In China, some people consume too much high-calorie food, but not enough fruits and vegetables, resulting in obesity, nutritional deficiencies and other problems, which can cause great harm to health. Individual portions can be set according to nutritional requirements of each person to ensure that each meal has the appropriate amount of vitamins, protein, fat and carbohydrates. It can also eliminate the bad habit of being partial to and picky about food, especially among the kids. trivial matter, but a necessary means to reduce public health safety risks. Eating together at a table and not using separate serving utensils heightens the possibility of crossinfections and poses a great threat to people’s health.

Wearing masks, washing hands frequently, and regular ventilation are the hygienic practices in preventing and controlling the COVID-19 epidemic and are adopted by the people throughout the nation. In my eyes, the voices for popularizing individual portion have grown in the society. I believe a “table revolution” must be carried out.
