The InterContinental Bali Resort has recently unveiled the first of its redesigned Singaraja rooms, paying homage to its home island’s artistic heritage. Each room features handpainted batik walls and intricate woodcarvings, full-height murals inspired by designs found on local textiles, while custom-made pendant lamps take their cues from the terra-cotta crown finials found atop Bali’s thatched roofs. Rooms also incorporate the latest technology, including occupancy sensors to reduce energy consumption; low-flow shower heads and taps; and a Smart IPTV system for enjoying an impressive range of TV channels, along with a messaging interface for in-room dining and concierge services.
