Created by a mother- and- son duo, Luk Kai Thong occupies a stylish setting where patrons are greeted by indoor greenery and an enormous bird cage at the entrance. The menu offers elevated Chinese home- style cooking, along with a selection of Thai dishes such as a spicy coconut palm tip salad and deep-fried slices of seabass in tamarind sauce. But the star attractions are the stewed pork belly served atop preserved vegetables and baked rice, Hong Kong– style flat rice noodles with pork and prawn, and shaved ice flavored with Thai milk tea.
