Created by a mother- and- son duo, Luk Kai Thong occupies a stylish setting where patrons are greeted by indoor greenery and an enormous bird cage at the entrance. The menu offers elevated Chinese home- style cooking, along with a selection of Thai dishes such as a spicy coconut palm tip salad and deep-fried slices of seabass in tamarind sauce. But the star attraction­s are the stewed pork belly served atop preserved vegetables and baked rice, Hong Kong– style flat rice noodles with pork and prawn, and shaved ice flavored with Thai milk tea.
