MARTIN WESTLAKE
Photographed “South to Salalah,”
A Jakarta-based photographer and frequent contributor to DestinAsian, Westlake was thrilled to return to Oman three years after his first visit. “Previously I was in Muscat for a couple of days, so it was nice on this trip to spend my time exploring other areas of the country. Oman’s jawdropping landscapes are a photographer’s dream, from the mountains and canyons of Jabal Akhdar to the coastal scenery around Salalah and the magnificent sand dunes of the Empty Quarter. The journey was made even more memorable thanks to the amazing hospitality we received at two new luxury resorts.” While not on assignment for the likes of Monocle and Condé Nast Traveller, Westlake continues to shoot a personal project about Indonesia’s volcanoes.
