A HIGHER CALLING
In a city as space-starved as Hong Kong, H Queen’s comes off as a brilliant solution to satisfy the ever-growing appetite for contemporary art. The gleaming new 24-story tower in Central boasts unusually high ceilings (at 4.6 meters) and reinforced floors to support heavy artworks, which can be moved into place thanks to an outside hoisting system and glass curtain walls that can be opened. Apart from a slew of local galleries and global heavyweights like David Zwirner and Hauser & Wirth, Swiss watchmaking brand Audemars Piguet has also chosen the building for the first Asian location of AP House (pictured here), with a residential-style showroom and entertainment lounge taking up an entire floor ( hqueens.com.hk).
