STAR OF THE SEASON
Danish chef Henrik Yde-Andersen turned heads when his Thai restaurant Kiin Kiin became Copenhagen’s first Asian venue to gain a Michelin star, a status it has retained for the past decade. The restaurant’s offshoot at the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok, Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin ( srabuabykiinkiin.com), recently received that same honor in the inaugural Bangkok Michelin guide. Head chef Chayawee Suthcharitchan attributes some of that success to Yde-Andersen, who frequently stops by to update its seasonal offerings. In April, Sra Bua will roll out a fivecourse Summer Journey set dinner menu that looks as theatrical as it does delicious: expect an appetizer of red snapper and “salad cotton candy,” shown here, and other palate-pleasers.
