Perched on the 56th floor of Hong Kong’s Island Shangri-La hotel and with lofty views of Victoria Harbour, French restaurant Petrus played host to the DestinAsian magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards luncheon. The 13th edition of the annual affair on February 7 drew hoteliers, tourism officials, and other travel industry leaders, and the event began with a cocktail reception followed by speeches from publisher Ronald Liem and editor-in-chief Christopher P. Hill. Mr. Liem presented red Zwiesel crystal vases to winners in 31 categories ranging from destinations and airlines to boutique hotels, while guests tucked into a three-course meal that featured dishes such as homemade cavatelli pasta and crispy pork belly with black truffles.
