Southern Iceland’s coastal rivers

MOVIE DIRECTORS INCLUDING Prometheus’ Ridley Scott and Star Wars: The Force Awakens helmsman JJ Abrams have captured scenes amid the geysers, glaciers, volcanoes and lava fields of Iceland. As have fans of celluloid. Here, photographer Samuel Feron, flying 500 feet above southern Iceland, captures the iridescent waters of a coastal river that contrasts against black volcanic sand, green moss and the frigid North Atlantic. He named it The Peacock.
