NPC names new heads

China named new heads of its economic planner and the country’s top commerce and justice authorities on Friday.

He Lifeng was appointed director of the National Development and Reform Commission, replacing Xu Shaoshi, China’s top legislature said Friday. Zhang Jun was named Minister of Justice to replace Wu Aiying.

Zhong Shan was appointed commerce minister to replace Gao Hucheng.

The appointments were announced at a meeting of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee that was held from Wednesday to Friday.
