Despicable deceiving beggars

-

Now, it seems that there are more and more fake beggars on the streets. When we encounter them asking for money, we might refuse them by saying “no change.” This excuse may not work anymore. According to the latest reports, a beggar in Jinan, Shandong Province, attached a QR code to his basket so that others can pay him by scanning it. When seeing beggars on the street, we feel sorry for them and would like to help them by giving them spare coins, which, indeed, is worth advocating and is a good virtue. But this does not mean it is right to take advantage of other people’s kindness and compassion for personal benefits. These beggars, who intend to deceive others, ought to be banned from the streets. However, we should not stop eating for fear of choking. For people who are truly in trouble, we should still offer a helping hand.
