‘ Closer cooperation’ for NE China, east Russia

Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang and his Russian counterpart Yury Trutnev on Thursday pledged to boost cooperation between China’s northeastern provinces and Russia’s Far East.

They made the pledge during the second council meeting of regional cooperation between China’s northeastern provinces and Russia’s Far East.

As the China- Russia relationship is enjoying a golden age, the two regions have rare opportunities for further cooperation, Wang said, noting that China stands ready to work with the Russian side to coordinate policies, expand cooperation, promote connectivity, use existing financing platforms and improve the business environment.

Trutnev said China is an important partner for Russia to develop the Far East, and Russia will make joint efforts with the Chinese side to elevate cooperation there.
