Airlines, manufacturers announce new services, deals
Emirates
Emirates said that it offers featured fares on business class for departures from its five destinations in the Chinese mainland: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Zhengzhou and Yinchuan.
For business seats booked until November 6, passengers departing from Emirates’ five destinations in the Chinese mainland between Monday and April 30 can enjoy a featured fare starting from 13,599 yuan ($ 2,018). Destinations include cities in Europe, Africa ( in- cluding India Ocean islands), the Middle East and South America.
Boeing
Boeing said Wednesday that Yangtze River Express has signed an agreement to become the first Chinese airline to use Boeing Maintenance Performance Toolbox Records to automate its maintenance record- keeping.
Toolbox Records will eliminate paper- based maintenance records from the airline’s operations and will reduce operat- ing costs through improved efficiency. Toolbox Records uses data- analytics processes to help airlines make better operational maintenance decisions. It manages scanned and digitally produced maintenance and flight records, with immediate access to critical files.
Jetstar
Low- budget carrier Jetstar Pacific Airlines said that it will fly a daily route between Guangzhou and Hanoi starting December 1, and another route between Guangzhou and Ho Chi Minh City beginning December 2, with five frequencies weekly.
All flights will fly A320 aircraft, and the company said that it will add another three aircraft to this fleet. Fleet size could reach 24 by 2017. It also said that it will open a route between Hong Kong and Ho Chi Minh City starting November 18, flying four times per week.
Embraer
Embraer said that during the third quarter of 2016 it delivered 29 jets to the commercial aviation market, 38 percent more than the same period a year earlier. The company delivered 12 large executive jets, 33 percent more than the same quarter of last year. However, total executive aviation deliveries fell around 17 percent when compared with the same period last year. On September 30, Embraer’s firm order backlog totaled $ 21.4 billion.
