The number of Chinese metropolitan areas with a population of more than 1 million, which may double in the next decade, The Guardian reported Sunday, citing Demographia research group report. The World Bank forecast that 1 billion people, or around 70 percent of the country’s population, will live in cities by 2030, it said.
