Art Beijing brings Asian art to the National Agriculture Exhibition Center
Art Beijing, one of China’s major art expos, is set to kick off this weekend at Beijing’s National Agriculture Exhibition Center, event organizers announced in a press release on Wednesday.
This year’s Art Beijing, the 12th in its history, will continue its tradition of being divided into four sections: contemporary art, classic art, design art and public art.
A total of 160 art organizations, including art centers, galleries and auction houses, are expected to attend the fourday expo. Additionally, a special section dedicated to supporting new and developing galleries in Asia, “Find,” will also be held this year.
This is not the only new section this year.
The organizers have also set up an Asia Plus section, which will focus on contemporary art from China and Japan.
Seven artists from the two countries, including Chinese artist Liu Xiaodong and Japanese artists Kishio Suga and Takahiro Iwasaki, will display their works, which represent the section’s theme of “Paralleling Asia.”
The preview event for VIPs will be held on Saturday, after which the event will be open to the public from Sunday to Tuesday.
