Video of little boy losing pants raises privacy concerns

-

Video of a young boy in Fujian Province who lost his bottoms on the catwalk during a kindergarten fashion show is getting laughs and raising questions on Chinese social media.

The minute- long clip taken at the school event in Zhangzhou on Saturday shows the boy sporting an outfi t that appears to be made of wrapping paper that has been taped together.

But as he returns from a turn on the catwalk, the bottom half comes undone. He was not wearing any underwear.

At a loss for what to do, the boy wanders around a bit until a teacher sitting in the front row gets his attention and grabs him from the stage, the video shows.

Pear Video, the media outlet that acquired the video, added graphics and text yet did not bother to pixilate the boy’s face.

The hashtag “boy loses pants while on catwalk” on Sina Weibo received nearly 1.9 million views as of press time.

Most netizens on Sina Weibo laughed about the video. “You are so cute. People will remember you all the time,” wrote “queya.”

“This is a thing that he could brag about in his life – ‘ I was streaking on stage,’” user “twmlzkj” commented.

Others had more valuable observations. “Why wasn’t the boy wearing any underwear?” asked one user.

“This video may be a violation of his privacy and even scar him emotionally,” wrote another.
