Foxconn anticipate­s more US investment

Multinatio­nal electronic­s contract manufactur­er Foxconn may come up with more investment in the US, following the company’s recent $ 10 billion investment in the US state of Wisconsin.

The company, which is also a major contractor for Apple Inc, said that the investment in Wisconsin will be the fi rst of a series of facilities that it will build in several states, according to a statement sent to the Global Times on Thursday. The target is to build a robust electronic­s ecosystem in the US.

The next project might be in Dane County, a second site in the state, the newspaper USA Today reported, citing knowledgea­ble sources.

However, the company said in the statement that there are no fi nal plans as yet.

Ofo launches services in Malaysia

Chinese bike- sharing services provider ofo announced on Thursday it will enter Malaysia by putting an initial 2,000 bikes into the market this month.

The country is the sixth overseas market that the company has tapped into so far as part of a global expansion strategy.

“Malaysia is one of the strategic partners of China in terms of pursuing the ‘ Belt and Road’ initiative, which is the reason why ofo chose to enter this market,” Lawrence Cao, manager in charge of ofo’s Asia- Pacifi c business, was quoted as saying in a statement sent to the Global Times on Thursday.
