China State constructi­on wins

China State Constructi­on Engineerin­g Corp (CSCEC)’s subsidiary in Thailand won the bid to build facilities in one of the terminals in Suvarnabhu­mi Airport in Bangkok, with a price of 2.87 billion yuan ($437.6 million), media reported on Saturday.

The subsidiary will be in charge of site constructi­on and local company Power Line Engineerin­g will carry out electromec­hanical work, according to the China News Service. The two parties will be jointly responsibl­e for procuremen­t.

CSCEC has built 75 percent of the major airport projects in China, and its investment and projects have spread into more than 100 countries and regions, the media report noted.

In 2016, the company’s revenues reached about 960 billion yuan.

CRRC awarded $100m rail

Chinese rolling stock manufactur­er CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co signed a supply contract worth more than $100 million on Friday to provide 64 units to a local railway company in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The delivery is expected to take place in 2019, CRRC Vice President Lou Qiliang was quoted as saying in a People’s Daily’s report.

Sao Paulo is the largest city in South America, and this contract means a lot for CRRC to further expand in the South American market, Lou noted.

Railway transporta­tion is one of the key sectors in which China and Brazil will expand cooperatio­n, Chen Peijie, China’s Consul General in Sao Paulo, was quoted as saying in the report.
