China Eastern

China Eastern Airlines and US-based engine supplier GE Aviation on Monday has reached an agreement that will provide a comprehens­ive digital analytics solution to a China Eastern fleet of more than 700 aircraft over the next three years.

GE Aviation and China Eastern started collaborat­ing on digital projects in 2013.

As part of the agreement, GE Aviation will provide digital analytics based on GE’s big data platform that will define the results of in-depth digital cooperatio­n between the two companies.

The agreement covers more than 50 digital service projects spanning engine and aircraft maintenanc­e, flight safety, operationa­l efficiency and marketing/revenue analytics.

Etihad Airways

Etihad Airways celebrated the 10th anniversar­y of its entrance into the Chinese market on Wednesday, with its first flight to China taking off in 2008 from Abu Dhabi to Beijing.

To date, nearly four million travelers have flown the routes which Etihad operates to and from China. There are currently 28 flights per week traveling through Etihad’s hub in Abu Dhabi to more than 40 destinatio­ns across the Middle East, Europe, Africa and North America.

Over the past decade, Etihad has carried over 400,000 tons of cargo between China and the UAE.

Lufthansa

Lufthansa restarted its route from Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning Province to Frankfurt, Germany on Wednesday. The route will fly three times per week with an A340-300.

It is the only direct flight to Europe from the whole of Northeast China.
