Currency swap with Nigeria

The People’s Bank of China (PBC), the country’s central bank, said on Thursday it has signed a threeyear bilateral currency swap agreement with Nigeria worth 15 billion yuan ($2.36 billion).

PBC said the swap deal will facilitate trade and investment, and safeguard the stability of financial markets of both countries, according to a short statement on its website.

TCO shipment services start

COSCO Shipping Specialize­d Carriers Co on Wednesday launched transport services for the Tengizchev­roil (TCO) project, the world’s largest oil and gas developmen­t project, industry news site ship.sh reported on Thursday.

TCO is a joint venture set up in 1993 between Chevron , ExxonMobil , KazMunayGa­s and LukArco.

The company’s semi-submerged ship, which weighs about 20,000 tons, will first load K101/K102 modules of the project in South Korea and ship them to Hamina, Finland, according to the report.

Ganfeng eyes Australian lithium

Jiangxi-based Ganfeng Lithium Co and South Korea’s LG Chem are among parties that have approached mining services provider Mineral Resources about buying a stake in one of its Australian lithium mines, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Japan’s Mitsui & Co and Chinese battery maker CATL have also showed interest in the asset and in securing lithium output, the people noted.
