Coal plant in Vietnam
China Railway 11 Bureau Group Co, a subsidiary of State-owned China Railway Construction Corp, announced that construction officially started on Wednesday on the second phase of a coalfired power plant in Vietnam, according to a statement on the company’s official website.
“The project is the largest coalfired power plant in terms of installed capacity invested in by a Chinese company in Vietnam,” read the statement.
The value of the contract is 170 million yuan ($26.59 million).
The plant is one of the Chinaproposed Belt and Road initiative projects implemented through cooperation between China and Vietnam.
It is expected to ease electricity shortages.
Geely, Shell deal in Britain
Geely Auto Group and Royal Dutch Shell signed a global agreement that will lead to strategic cooperation beyond lubricants, the Xinhua News Agency reported.
Huibert Vigeveno, executive vice president of global commercial at Royal Dutch Shell, said the agreement outlined broader collaboration in the areas of research and development, new market entries and growth, as well as joint branded opportunities in motor sports and corporate social responsibility, the report said.
“Geely and Shell will collaborate on new digital opportunities and opportunities to work together throughout the energy transition,” said Vigeveno.
