Innovation show

The aviation industry held the first ever science and education innovation show in Beijing on Wednesday, with more than 80 firms attending.

At the show, there were flight operation monitoring systems, smart security inspections, intelligent robots, flight simulators and other equipment, including air space surveillance test vehicles and X-band low-altitude surveillance radars.

In the field of security technology, the global tracking and monitoring systems of civil airliners have comprehensively been covering China’s international and regional flights, while all routes throughout the country have realized performance-based navigation operations.

Turkish Airlines

Turkish Airlines, ZTO Express and Hong Kong-based PAL Air Ltd recently signed an agreement to set up a joint venture in a bid to operate as a global express company that mainly focuses on the global e-commerce market with comprehensive door-to-door services.

The services of the new global express joint venture company will be based in Hong Kong. The company will cover all door-to-door logistics activities. It will also include warehouse management as well as order-and-supply chain management when necessary.

Emirates

Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, has signed an MoU with Cainiao Smart Logistics Network Ltd, the logistics arm of Alibaba Group Holding, to jointly facilitate the delivery of cross-border parcels, as Cainiao looks to expand its global logistics infrastructure with Dubai.

Under the terms of the MoU, Emirates SkyCargo and Cainiao will work closely to manage e-commerce shipments in the Middle East and other neighboring regions via Dubai.

China Southern

China Southern said on Wednesday that it will open a direct route flying from Sanya, South China’s Hainan Province, to London. It will be the first regular, direct route starting from Hainan to Europe and will also be the first intercontinental flight departing from the province.

The route will operate with an A330 and will run twice per week. So far, China Southern has opened two routes to London, one is from Guangzhou, capital of South China’s Guangdong Province, and the second is from Wuhan, capital of Central China’s Hubei Province. Once the Sanya flight is launched, China Southern will operate a total of 12 weekly routes to London.
