Stranded customer repeatedly calls car company hotline – no one answers
A man is crusading against a shared car company after being left stranded for hours due to a vehicle breakdown and repeated calls to their customer helpline went unanswered.
The customer surnamed Cao said his GoFun shared vehicle broke down around 4 pm on July 1 in Yangzhou, East China’s Jiangsu Province.
Cao immediately called the national service hotline with no luck.
“I called the hotline for around three hours and no one answered,” Cao said.
Cao said he eventually called local authorities, who directed him back to the company.
“They told me my case is not a traffic accident; they said I should contact customer service of the shared car company,” Cao said.
Cao said he finally reached GoFun’s Yangzhou branch, who said they didn’t handle repairs and his complaint would be forwarded to the company’s head office.
He said it was only after hours of negotiation that employees with the Yangzhou office agreed to tow away his car. Cao feels he was treated unfairly. “How could the company treat its customers like this?” he asked.
“It is the company’s responsibility to provide prompt support to users that encounter problems while using their shared cars,” Cao said.
The company was not contacted for comment in the original reports.
