EXTREME OPULENCE

-

The spare bedroom is an ode to Northern African exoticism with Berber rugs, Moroccan vases, evocative paintings and cushions designed by Andrea, all united by a resonant palette of opulent violet.

– provide luxurious counterparts to the understated grey tones. Three silk and velvet sofas that surround a resplendent rug designed by Andrea elevate the colour palette without altering it, while the aesthetics of the ’50s are again incorporated into the beguiling interiors with a mid-century armchair upholstered in silk brocade from his own collection.

Andrea’s bedroom is somewhat minimal in comparison to the rest of his residence. Duck-eggblue walls evoke peacefulness and tranquillity, while the white bed spread allows the designs on his embroidered cushions to stand out. Flanked by two tables bearing Ron Gilad lamps and further finished by second-hand sideboards crowned with a wire sculpture by Marie Christophe, the room is a manifestation of Andrea’s aspirations, interests and character, not to mention his identity as a textile and furniture designer. As an aesthete, he blends styles, superimposes images and collects objects – and his abode is a profusion of creations and memories, which nourish the imagination of its owner and establish a single creative universe that resembles him. //
