V-ZUG APPLIANCES ARE SHAPED BY USER-CENTRIC DESIGNS IDEAL FOR MODERN LIVING
Design permeates every aspect of our life, from the clothes we wear to the myriad of products we bring into our home, such as the appliances we rely on every day. These necessities need to look good and perform well – how successfully they do this comes down to the vision of the design team behind them. “We always design our products starting with the idea of making everyday life easier for users, exciting and inspiring them,” says Julia Borger, User Experience Designer for Swiss brand, V-ZUG. Located in Zug, Switzerland, V-ZUG has been developing and manufacturing innovative household appliances since 1913, and has established a global presence and a recognised identity that is known for fascinating designs and highperformance, easy-to-use products. “Users should have to do as little as possible when it comes to appliance inputs. In the best case it involves natural movements and intuitive procedures that enable an input,” says User Experience Designer, Gloria Cultura. This approach was employed on the award-winning, zoneless FullFlex hob, which detects where you place cookware and adjusts itself automatically, and has a professional mode that regulates the power level when you push a pan to the back. This is convenient cooking at the highest level.

To achieve this, V-ZUG is dedicated to introducing evermore innovations into its products. For example, the world-unique vibration absorbing system in V-ZUG washing machines, which makes them exceedingly quiet – and a popular choice with consumers – and the Combi-Steam MSLQ, a world-first in combining heat, steam and microwave in one appliance. Exemplary Swiss design and high-quality materials also feature in the RefreshButler, a luxury fabric care system that cleans delicate fabrics to professional levels at home. Each free-standing piece is handmade in Switzerland and can be integrated into an existing cupboard system. RefreshButler combines three practical functions in one appliance: a refresh function that neutralises odours; hygiene function to ensure that bacteria and germs are almost completely eliminated; and a drying function that dries wet fabrics in a gentle and energy-saving manner thanks to the heat pump. Every aspect of a V-ZUG appliance is carefully considered. As Borger notes, “Our appliances stand for quality and durability, so the design has to last and remain appealing for a long period of time.”
