The Apartment Suite by joyce wang
Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong
Hotel suites are at their best when they feel like an upgraded version of home: hence the new Apartment Suite at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong. It was designed by the award-winning interior designer Joyce Wang, who has taken the city by storm since starting her Wan Chai studio in 2011, building a reputation for luxurious interiors with establishments including Ammo, Mott 32 and Rhonda under her belt.
Wang’s elegant, detailed approach to design comes through in the careful curation of space, light and materials in the Apartment Suite. This 1,500sqft private luxury apartment features a spacious, open-plan living area featuring natural wood flooring accented with gold, caramel and royal blue furnishings.
Commissioned artworks adorn the walls, while a large bespoke desk featuring Wang’s signature translucent acrylic base stands as the centrepiece of the study area. There is a kitchen close to the entrance that is fully equipped with Gaggenau and Smeg appliances; while a cocktail bar complete with stylish rose gold shakers, straws and other accessories for the perfect martini was created for the dining space. The master suite features a bed with a curved quilted leather headboard that is perfect for bedtime reading, separate walk-in dressing spaces, and a marble bathroom with deep-soak bathtub, rainforest shower and Jo Malone amenities.
When combined via an interconnecting door with an adjacent guest room, the suite can be transformed into a two-bedroom residence, creating a 1,950sqft space ideal for families. A second super-suite, the Entertainment Suite, is scheduled for completion in July.
