CONNOISSEURS OF AURAL PLEASURES WON’T WANT TO MISS SYNTHPOP LEGENDS THE PET SHOP BOYS THIS MONTH AT THEIR ONE-NIGHT-ONLY BLOWOUT SHOW

-

Still topping the charts after three decades of music, the Pet Shop Boys— Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe—will be playing in Hong Kong on September 26 before wrapping up the Asian leg of their summer tour in Taiwan. Following the debut of their 45-minute conceptual work A Man From the Future, which premiered on the BBC Proms in July, the synthpop duo traversed Europe before landing in Asia.

As the most successful duo in British music history, the Pet Shop Boys are well known for their avant-garde aesthetics and defiant, contrary responses to popular music trends—favouring dance and disco when rock ’n’ roll was on the rise, for instance. Expect hits from their exciting and widely acclaimed album Electric, released last summer, and classic favourites such as West End Girls and Being Boring. September 26; AsiaworldExpo; $980–1,280 from HKTICKETING.COM
