THIS YEAR’S IVY BALL SAW A NEW LEVEL OF FRIENDLY COM­PE­TI­TION AMONG PRES­TI­GIOUS HIS­TORIC SCHOOLS

The crème de la crème of aca­demic in­sti­tu­tions gath­ered to­gether for the an­nual Ivy Ball, which this year took place at the Hong Kong Con­ven­tion and Ex­hi­bi­tion Cen­tre ball­room. Stu­dents from par­tic­i­pat­ing schools—har­vard, Prince­ton, Columbia, Yale, Dart­mouth, Cor­nell, Brown, Upenn and Mit—met up to min­gle and boost school pride. The event be­gan with a wel­come from Ivy League rep­re­sen­ta­tives and guests were pre­sented with prizes while they en­joyed din­ner. This was fol­lowed by a raf­fle that caused much ex­cite­ment due to the gen­er­ous do­na­tions by Ivy alumni such as Crys­tal Hung of Cho­co­lat-ier, Jen­nifer Liu of Caffe Habitu and Justin Chang of As­cot Chang. Prizes in­cluded breaks at five-star ho­tels, a gym mem­ber­ship, vouch­ers for Max­i­mal Con­cepts and good­ies from Shu Ue­mura. The grand prize was a ring from Bee’s Di­a­monds, which fea­tured 56 of the pre­cious gems, and also free ad­mis­sion for any part-time course at Gen­eral Assem­bly.
