Raising Hope

A GLAMOROUS BUNCH GATHERED AT THE CONRAD HONG KONG FOR THE YOUTH DIABETES ACTION CHARITY BALL, HOSTED BY CHAIRPERSON Joanna Hotung

-

To raise funds for setting up a centre of excellence for children suffering from diabetes, Youth Diabetes Action hosted its annual Spring Fling fundraiser, themed Metropolis, at the Conrad Hong Kong. The hotel ballroom was transformed into a cityscape of different buildings with the help of the talented Silvio Berge and his creative team. More than 300 guests from high society attended the glamorous evening, including guest of honour Ko Wing-man (Hong Kong’s Secretary for Food and Health), Mahnaz Lee, David and Avisha Harilela, Joy Slosar, Matthew and Lianne Lam, and many others.

Youth Diabetes Action received generous donations from its supporters—more than HK$3 million was raised for muchneeded space, equipment and supplies for children suffering from diabetes. Among numerous donors, Rusy and Purvis Shroff sponsored a library and education room at the centre of excellence, dedicated to learning and research on diabetes care.
