THE BEST ’60S SILHOUETTES ARE MAKING A GROOVY COMEBACK

-

With a collection that seemed to relive London’s 1960s Youthquake movement, Gucci’s Frida Giannini featured shortwaisted A-line dresses and shifts, matched with clear-lens aviators and knee-high go-go boots in python or supple suede. Styles were similar at Saint Laurent, where rock ’n’ roll fan Hedi Slimane presented grunge-like interpretations of what one might imagine fashion icons Edie Sedgwick or Jean Shrimpton wore during a night out on the town. Playful details for the evening included sequins on shift dresses and glittery Mary Janes for Saint Laurent (right), and brightly coloured fur and metal rivets on clutches by Valentino (below).
