BURBERRY PRORSUM
British It girls Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne were the stars of Christopher Bailey’s new collection, The Bloomsbury Girls—a nod to the female members of the 20th-century Bloomsbury Group of English intellectuals that included Virginia Woolf. Silhouettes included the house’s signature trench coat with a twist—metallic tassels and handpainted motifs. Later it was paired with an over-the-shoulder blanket, crafted from gorgeous double cashmere and Scottish wovenwool cashmere. The materials were also employed in a variety of coats, scarves and bags. Prints were significant, most notably as a heart motif on men’s shirts (some gents really do wear their hearts on their sleeves), clutches, trenches, slouchy handbags and a giant metallic version on an evening gown. Couldn’t agree more: we heart Burberry.
